Sketchbook Project: Rebinding

Thanks to an idea dropped by Liberty, today is my day to rebind my sketchbook with watercolor paper. In college, we always had to make and bind our own books for final production, so I feel like the ability is there to do it. It's just a matter of my own patience :)

Wish me luck!

Question for you today: What's something you feel you can do and maybe even do well, but often don't have the patience or in this new normal, the energy/motivation to do it? I know that would like to have more energy and motivation to cook/bake again.

  1. I am about to go back to work after over 3 months off after Aidan's death. There were so many things that I thought about doing: getting back into my painting/drawing, projects around the house, expanding upon my genealogy research, cooking or baking etc. But instead I did very little. I sat and moped mostly. I hope I can shake this inertia.

  2. Both of my kids are off to school next month so I'll have more free time (which actually makes me sad because I should have more little kids at home with me). Maybe I'll start playing the piano again or do a little watercolor painting.

  3. I wish that I took more time to play piano and to read. And I'm really wondering if I actually like to bake, or just that I like to eat baked goods. Once I figure that out, then maybe I can be sad that I don't do it as often as I would like, or realize it's something that can be left on the back burner. Sorry to say, but I am not a drawer or by any means visually creative. I leave that up to you!

  4. Knitting. I used to love to knit. I could sit for hours making cute little wool diaper covers, teeny tiny little hats and scarves,etc... and I loved every single second of it. Now, I just can't keep my attention on one thing very long and knitting grown up things vs. baby things just doesn't seem as enjoyable to me. :(

  5. I'm a few days late on this post, and maybe this question isn't directed to me, but I would love to keep up on my poetry. That is something in my life that I feel has the capacity to really connect with people.
