Yesterday was 11 months. My mom came through town and it was a good way to spend the day.
Last evening was also the reading and book signing of David Sedaris. When I bought the tickets, I knew it fell on the 11 month time marker, but thought it was fitting to go anyway. I'd never read anything of his before last December, and a friend sent me one of his books. It made me smile, even if just for a moment, during those first weeks after Lyra died. I've read many of his books since then, and thought it'd be a nice way to finish out another month gone by with some deep belly laughs from his reading, facial expressions, diary snippets, and jokes.
Below is my signed page. I had my water bottle with me, and it was his conversation starter with me. It's nice he takes the time to write something more than just his signature. Plus, I like random, so it works well :)
