This is a bit of a cop out...trees are an obvious direction for a prompt like this. I wasn't feeling particularly out-of-the-box inspired yesterday, so this simple and quick sketch is all I have. Perhaps this will simmer in my creative juices and I'll later have a better image for this prompt.

"Blankets"

This one was done rather hurriedly. But I am quite grateful for the people who have made us various blankets, and given them as gifts. During the cooler months, we have them all over the apartment, and love burying ourselves in them. Sometimes you can find our little gray feline snuggled up under one with me while I crochet or read :)

ReplyDeleteI have to say that your blog header just spoke to me. I too lost a daughter, but mine was at 40 weeks and due to a cord accident. It hurts like hell and your header echos my own heart.
ReplyDeleteI keep having a vision (that i can't draw becuase I am NOT create nor able) thought maybe you might like it... It is a couple opening up a Fall out shelter (like in the movie twister) Only there are rocks on top and it is from a graveyard - above the rainbow is out and they are finally smiling.. Kind of like how we all feel right now? Peaking out into the sunlight (but not all the way out yet) Anyway - hope you like the visual anyway - Take care
ReplyDeleteDon't be too hard on yourself...sometimes an artist is just not feeling "inspired", but as you see from the posts...others may think your work is beautiful and inspiring even if you don't today! :) Relax and take the pressure off yourself! I like the grace of the tree sketch, it reminds me of oriental drawings or writing somehow.
