Two random projects I've done recently: repurposing flip flops from this tutorial, and a watercolor doodle.
----
L told me last night that he had seen two redheaded children in a local restaurant lately...one girl and one boy. She was older than her brother, and it made L think about Lyra and Simon.
----
It was Memorial Day weekend here in the U.S. this past weekend, and we got together with L's family. All the cousin's were together. Sort of. I didn't have to say it out loud, or make a big point of it. I suppose that could be an added segment for myself in the "Where I'm At" project. That exact weekend last year I wondered if I was pregnant with my rainbow baby. This year I was unbelievably blessed to have Simon here with us...meeting his other cousins and getting used to the all commotion that he'll soon be adding to.

Four months old. My little baby boy is four months old already... and not so little. He's almost 17lbs, and 28in long. He grew an inch in two weeks time from our last trip to the dr. for a cold!!
He doesn't sit up without help yet, and he still hates tummy time. But he's discovered his hands and starting to notice his feet more. He reaches for things and grasps them better, and giggles the sweetest giggles. His hair is staying red at the moment, and his eyes are still blue. Oh, and he hates his car seat more than anything in the world. He used to get in the car and fall asleep, but now he wails for a bit before nodding off from exhaustion...I always feel bad, but living in the middle of nowhere, we have to drive to reach a bigger grocery store and such.
We're all learning together, and enjoying the process for the meantime :)
That is one beautiful boy you've got there!
ReplyDeleteI find myself looking at families with an older brother and younger sister duo and trying to be happy. Mostly I am, but it makes me wonder and sometimes makes my heart hurt.
Glad to see you are doing well--thinking of you and your babies :)
xo
Love the picture of you & Simon...SO cute!!! Whenever I see redheaded children in public I always think I wonder if my child would have looked like that, always makes me feel a little sad since I'll probably never have a redhead now. Love the sandals, you are so talented! Can't wait to see you soon!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweetie. Enjoy every minute.

Lovely photo of the two of you. He is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThe sandals and watercolour are fab too.x
He's so darned cute!!! And good on him for growing!!!! Someone told me today that Luke was 'dense'. Meaning chunko-saurus, though he's only 15 lbs., 5 oz....he's also only 25.5 inches, so he is pretty dense, actually. Who'd have thought that little baby bird would do that?
ReplyDeleteLuke hated tummy time so much he finally figured out how to roll over so he wouldn't have to do it! Maybe that'll motivate Simon too!!
The giggles...oh, the giggles!!! xoxoxo
Cool flip flops! I tried to refashion a pair years ago ... not so good. Simon is precious.
ReplyDeleteSimon is so adorable.
ReplyDeleteCooper still hates the car seat. He's hated it ever since he was born. I think some of it has to do with the fact that he can't see, or he gets bored. We tried using one of those mirror things that play music, that can attach to the back seat of the car, but he didn't like it. It only got better once we got to move him to a forward car seat, but he still throws a fit if he's in the car for over 30 minutes.
Love the update and photo of you and Simon. So precious.
