New Fabric

We got our current dining room set secondhand. It's not perfect, but it fits our quirky style. However, the fabric on the chairs was rather dingy and finally this last week I couldn't stand the hideousness of it any longer. Of course I did it in time for us to have company over tonight, so there was a bit of a rush to find fabric we liked, find a staple gun from family, and get it all reassembled. I think we managed all right though...both L and I like the end result :)

Starting top left, moving clockwise: Outer fabric - see the hole?, Fabric hidden under outer layer - see the stains?, The end result, and my little helper.

This is a close up of the fabric we chose. This has a bit of a green hue to it, but the stem and leaves in it match the green of our chairs. The teal with the pop of pink/orange color just makes me happy. I'm glad with how it turned out!

  2. Awesome Job! My chairs next? LOL, mine aren't covered, but I am sure your crafty self could figure out how to cushion and cover them! :) And your little helper is to stinking cute!

    1. Ha - I don't know how hard that would be. I didn't have to redo any of the padding or anything. You're pretty handy there yourself though...I bet you'd do great :)

    1. This is not my normal skill set...just a square piece of fabric stabled around the seat :) Anything harder than that, and I'm absolutely positive it would be a giant disaster!!

  4. Very cool. I always think about reupholstering things, but have no experience. Was this easy to do?

    1. This was my first reupholstering project, and it was fairly easy. No difficult tucks or cuts to make. Just a square piece of fabric, and stapled it onto the bottom of the seat part. :)
