Collage stage
Washes and paint stage
I've been working on it here and there, so I'm not sure when it will be done. I'm excited for it though.
----
I'll bullet point the rest of this post so as not to ramble extensively:
Good things:
- Weekly appointments are underway (!)
- Simon is still measuring ahead
- Had a good catch-up with a BLM and felt refreshed after letting some of my crazy out. She understands my crazy, and good at listening to it all :)
Disappointing things:
- I hate to mention this, but to be fully honest, I've lost weight. As mentioned above though, Simon is measuring ahead and healthy. The nurse today sure acted like I'm purposefully trying to do this though...as if I'd want to add another element to an already high risk and stressful pregnancy.
- We had plans to visit both our families for Christmas...out of town. The Dr. said for normal patients with no previous issues, he recommends not traveling after 34 weeks. Since I'm abnormal, he wants me in town...no traveling. He wants to keep a close eye on me - which is a good thing. But that causes some hassles and recalculations of how we'll see everyone...we haven't figured that out yet.
- Still feeling sad. Or melancholy. And emotional. Not anything new though...

Wishing everyone a gentle week. We'll be doing Thanksgiving with L's family and visiting with some out of town friends. I've been lax on posting lately already, and it's most likely I won't get around to much the rest of this week. Love to all.
Love you & your crazy, thanks for putting up with me and my crazy too:) Hope the Thanksgiving trip goes well and we definitely will have to plan another get together soon! Sorry to hear the weight is coming off, but SO glad to hear Simon is looking good. Heres to being thankful to nearing the end of 2010!
ReplyDeleteThat is a huge canvas! I can't wait to see where you go with it. I"m a wimp when it comes to big - my biggest.... 8X10. Well.... I DID paint a 5 foot owl once, I guess that counts.
ReplyDeleteHave a peaceful and yummy thanksgiving. Eat more pie!
p.s. thanks for the note via snail mail!
I love the texture, colors, and mixed media you are putting together.
ReplyDeleteSorry the nurse is the implying sort. I hate that. I'm glad to hear Simon is doing well. Happy Thanksgiving - I am so thankful for you.
wow that is a huge canvas! I love seeing the parts of the process. I think it's an awesome idea to collage before paint! It adds so much more depth and variation than is easy to get with brushes. I am looking forward to seeing where you travel with this canvas :)
ReplyDeleteI am glad for your good things and sending optional hug energy for your disappointing things.
I know this time of year is so hard for you as it is and I can only imagine how it may feel to be told not to travel!
I have issues with travelling due to health and will likely do 'Christmas Morning' with my mom, stepdad and brother via webcam. they will turn on their huge computer and have it in the living room and we may all play a game together and I can watch them open gifts. not the same as in person but better than nothing! I share that just in case it sparks any ideas for you.
I hope your thanksgiving and visiting was wonderful :-)
thinking of you
