The major events in the five years of our marriage have generally been unplanned. We essentially fly by the seat of our pants. And we seem to do everything in stress clusters of three:
-Marry, graduate college, move to California
-Move back to Kansas, both start full time jobs, get pregnant
- Lyra's death was our exception...and by the far the most stressful and that in itself could count for a billion events.
We will be adding: have a baby, start new job, and move to new town.
L was offered a fabulous new job. One that would mean more stability, but it also means moving to a more rural part of the state. We can handle rural. But we'll be moving by the end of February. Since I can't travel, that means L is finding a house for us, and moving all of our stuff. Hopefully still add a new baby transition and it's a pretty stressful situation. But I haven't seen L this excited in a really long time. And that makes me happy. So, we're jumping in feet first!
Wow...that is a huge change. But glad to see that you are excited about it all. L sounds like an amazing partner...tell him to keep up the good work. ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteWow, huge news, Rachel. Congrats to L for the new job. Transitions will be hard, but you'll do great. Sending lots of love.

ReplyDeleteI like the bird, I like the spiral too, is it torn or painted? I am drawing a bird at the moment. Good luck with the move / new job/ new baby transitions, all at once.
ReplyDeleteLet us know if we can help with moving...or anything! Woo transitions! hopefully this stress cluster will be "good stress"
ReplyDeletevery, very excited for you. All the best wishes for all the new stuff and good, good, good fortune in the coming weeks and months.
ReplyDeletelove
Congrats to L on the new job!! Sorry the timing couldn't be more convenient, though. Moving around the same time as having a baby is tough even if it is a step up - I've done it twice!
ReplyDeleteSometimes it is those most random and unexpected changes that end p meaning the most to us.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations.. wishing the best for this next transition...
brilliant news rachel, it looks like its going to be a good year for you both! xxx anne
