And so I made some for Simon. I got lots of little peg people. I plan to paint the rest of them as super heros, or knights, or pirates or something...whatever Simon might be interested in a little later. I totally was gung ho to make a castle for him, out of cardboard boxes, but I was convinced to wait until he's a bit older to enjoy it more :) But I went ahead and made our little family for him. He's liked them so far.
All credit goes to Angie, and her willingness to share those projects and ideas with us here in this community. Thank you!
love those peg people!
ReplyDeleteThose are GORGEOUS! You know, I don't think I ever did a post on my peg people. Nothing like a proper how-to. I painted them in the first month of 2010 for Art Everyday, so it was just the picture. (http://stilllifeeveryday.blogspot.com/2010/01/friday010810.html)I just never quite liked the paint I used. I bought those craft acrylics and they were incredibly dull. But when I ordered peg people, I had to order a ton of them, so I always thought I might go back and redo them. Anyway, those are really beautiful. What kind of paint did you use? And thank you for the kind words. One thing I saw that was cool was a chess set made out of those peg people--ninjas vs. pirates. HA!
ReplyDeleteI used regular acrylic paint that you'd use for a canvas painting. I then did modge podge over that to keep them sealed. Ooh, a Ninja vs. Pirates chess board sounds awesome. I've seen all sorts of cool things, but trying to minimize the toys that I feign are for Simon, but are really for me ;)
DeleteI love them.
