Random

Tomorrow is my first doctor's appointment since our 20 week sonogram and the phone call about cysts and d.s.
It's FINALLY here. It seemed to take forever, but I've got my questions ready.
----
Funny story: At the grocery yesterday, the cashier and bag person both asked how far along I was. I said 24 weeks, and the cashier said, "Oh, so just over two months along." I fumbled with the keypad trying to follow instructions, but a part of me heard her and wondered where she came up with that. Of course, then I was trying to finish up paying, while doing simple division...24 divided by roughly 4 should be 6 months. The bag person then said, "Oh, she's more like 3 months along...I was doing 12 months instead of 9 months for pregnancy." I just smiled, said 'thank you' for their help, grabbed my bag and left. I obviously wasn't much help...I get all frazzled doing the simplest math in public, under pressure. I forget that unless you're pregnant, people don't know what the hell the weeks mean. Now that I'm showing enough, I need to remember how many months, to avoid future math debacles.

  1. Good luck tomorrow!!! I'm not sure if this will ease your mind any, but I just had my ultrasound this past Monday and the cyst that they saw the last time I was there had disappeared. So, I'm hoping you hear the same thing. I suppose it's a pretty common thing. And yes, before I was pregnant, I had no idea what the weeks meant...but I think I would have figured out 24 weeks does not equal 3 months along... :/ (((HUGS)))

  5. Oh, pregnancy math! A vet tech asked how far I was today--I'm almost 28 weeks, but I was scrambling to do the division too.

    Good luck tomorrow!

  7. Thinking of you and Simon... I hope you get all the answers you need tomorrow.

Weeks only make sense to women who have been pregnant... everyone else is lost, including me at times as I can never do the math fast enough to figure out how many months along I am either!!

  8. That is hilarious. I can never remember what the weeks add up to either. I now round to months.
